# FamyTree

> FamyTree (https://www.famytree.net) is a Spanish-language family tree and family history website. Users build their
> family tree with photos, biographies and memories, and can browse featured family trees of celebrities and
> historical figures. An MCP server lets AI assistants save a user's family research as a draft tree, look up the
> families of featured people and prepare posts for their biographies.

The site and all user-facing content are in Spanish. Human-readable documentation (Spanish, with an English summary):

## MCP server

- URL: https://www.famytree.net/mcp (Streamable HTTP, no authentication)
- Tools:
  - `create_family_tree_draft`: saves the family information gathered in the conversation as a private draft and
returns a link. The user reviews and corrects the tree, adds photos and saves it into a FamyTree account
(registering if needed). Nothing is published until the user saves it.
  - `search_famous_person`: read-only search by name over the featured family trees.
  - `get_famous_family_tree`: read-only; parents, grandparents, siblings, partners and children of a featured person,
with dates, places, a biography excerpt and links to their tree and biography pages.
  - `prepare_biography_post`: prepares a comment, memory, tribute or congratulations for a featured person's biography
and returns a link that opens the publication form already filled in. The user publishes it with their own account.
- Drafts and prepared posts are private (unguessable link), expire after 30 days and sending the same data again
  returns the same link.

## Draft rules (create_family_tree_draft)

- Up to 20 people, identified by their role relative to the main person: titular, padre, madre, abuelo_paterno,
abuela_paterna, abuelo_materno, abuela_materna, pareja (several allowed, each with an id) and hijo (with 'de' = the
partner's id). Grandparents require the corresponding parent.
- Dates as YYYY, YYYY-MM or YYYY-MM-DD with a precision: exacta, aproximada (shown as ~1908), estimada (1908?) or
desconocida (the event happened but the date is unknown).
- Always set 'vive': false for deceased people, also when the date of death is unknown.
- 'sexo' (H or M) is required for titular, pareja and hijo.
- Biographies, sources and posts in plain Spanish text, no HTML. Mark hypotheses with 'confirmado': false.
- Photos: public https URLs of JPEG, PNG or GIF images (not WebP), with author and a license that allows reuse. For
Wikimedia Commons use /thumb/ URLs with a standard width of 250, 330, 500 or 960 px.

## Post rules (prepare_biography_post)

- Use the alias returned by search_famous_person. Types: comentario (default), recuerdo (may have a date),
en_memoria (deceased people only), felicitacion (living people only). Up to 3 photos with the same rules as above.
- Write the text with the user, as their own words, in Spanish.
